Theoretical and Computational Quantum Physicist

I work at the interface of quantum field theory, lattice gauge dynamics and quantum many-body physics, combining analytical model building with large-scale numerical simulation: tensor networks, Krylov methods and exact diagonalisation on Hilbert-space sectors of several million states. Developing interests span lattice QCD and gauge–gravity duality, and the translation of quantum simulation into industry-relevant technology.

(2+1)D Honeycomb Quantum-Link Model

Fig. 1 — colour-singlet clusters, flux-tube formation and string breaking on the C2 patchInteractive figure on the C2 honeycomb patch in the colour-singlet notation of Halimeh et al. (PRX Quantum 5, 030358, 2024): each vertex is a triangle of sites with the matter site in the centre and one rishon site per link end at the corners; a lobe joining two sites of a vertex is an SU(2) colour singlet, a halo marks a doubly occupied site. A draggable time axis runs through a full cycle. In the vacuum a glueball cluster, six singlets around one hexagon swapped between two coverings by the plaquette term Tr U_p, sits next to two matter clusters, quark-antiquark singlet pairs across one link. Static sources Q and Q-bar are then placed by hand at the two tips; they pin the ring into matter clusters. During the formation ramp m(t) = 0.5 + 3.5 t/4 the off-corridor clusters annihilate and the corridor clusters join, pair by pair, into one flux tube: a chain of rishon singlets from Q to Q-bar. After the breaking quench m: 4 to 0.5 a vacuum pair cuts the chain, the pieces shrink onto the screened sources, the matter clusters return; once the sources are removed the glueball cluster resonates again. Under the axis, stacked bands give the exact source-class probabilities of the thesis protocols at R = 4; an inset shows the static connection probability for plaquette couplings kappa = 0, 2, 4.t1.30µ = 2m/g2 0.50Pconn 0.061P≥1ff 0.707τE 0.235J/aMAGNETIC TERMκ TrUp static Pconn (m), R = 410½24mκ = 0κ = 2κ = 4○ plaquette (loop) branchκ ≤ 2: m = 4 string intact · κ* ≈ 3.03Qq3 = +1Q̄q3 = −1µ* = 9/8 · string ↔ one-pair (R = 4)µvacuumvacuumGS1½PPconn P1ff Pconn P1ff P2ff P0ff + Q Q̄− Q Q̄0402tFORMATION RAMPm(t) = 0.5 + 3.5t/4BREAKING QUENCHm: 4 → 0.5bands: exact source classes of the thesis protocols (g² = 2, κ = 0, R = 4) · turquoise connected · ivory flux-free endpointsDrag to move through time

Gauge–Gravity Duality

AdS₅ × S⁵ ⟷ N = 4 SYM

AdS₅ × S⁵ / N = 4 SYM: a circular Wilson loop on the conformal boundary and its minimal string worldsheet in Euclidean AdS₅ A coordinate schematic of the circular Wilson-loop solution r²+z²=R². The closed contour C lies at z=0 and bounds a hemispherical string worldsheet Σ. The surface is minimal with respect to the AdS metric, not the flat metric of this drawing. Solid and dashed mesh lines distinguish visible and hidden portions. The surface sits inside AdS; it is not a picture of the entire bulk. Increasing radial coordinate z corresponds to lower boundary energy scales. This is a canonical large-N, strong-coupling N=4 super Yang–Mills example, separate from the finite SU(2) quantum-link model. Circular loop r² + z² = R² after Drukker, Gross & Ooguri, Phys. Rev. D 60, 125006 (1999); drawn in coordinates, the surface is minimal in the AdS metric.

Researcher Profile

Four connected areas define my research: model building for constrained quantum many-body systems, the numerical methods that solve them, an AI-augmented but independently verified development practice, and the transfer of these methods to industrial research.
